The Band

Founded in 1978, Stützles Halbe Stompers is a Hot Jazz band from Southern Germany, playing in the tradition of Jelly Roll Morton, Fats Waller and Turk Murphy. With favorites like "At the Jazzband Ball", "When the Saints", "Bill Bailey" or "Bourbon Street Parade", their repertoire includes many less well-known titles like "My Gal Sal", "Someday Sweetheart", "Once in a While", "Green Leaves of Summer" or "Kansas City Stomp".

The band's style is defined by a slightly unusual rhythm section comprising piano, banjo and tuba, but no drums.

In 1995 Stützles Halbe Stompers were declared Honorary Citizens of New Orleans.
